Who am I?

I have been a doula for almost 30 families and coached dozens of families so they can have a good and safe birth experience. Now it’s your turn. 

I am Anu TyvijÀrvi, public health nurse, certified doula, childbirth educator, breastfeeding consultant, pediatric sleep consultant, geographer and mother of two. I help you to trust your own abilities during childbirth and postpartum and to seek the support that you need.

Previously, I worked in the development cooperation within non-governmental organizations. As the last mission, I worked with the youth and volunteering development in Panama and participated in the evaluation of development cooperation projects in Honduras and El Salvador. My working languages have been English and Spanish, which is why I speak both fluently.

10 years ago in Panama, I met my Venezuelan spouse, with whom we decided to move to Finland. I started thinking about studying a new profession, and since I had always been interested in maternal and child health, I decided to study to become a public health nurse. After the birth of our first child, the idea of working as a doula and childbirth educator began to fascinate me even more, and I started walking towards this dream. Since then, I have completed the continuing education of a pediatric sleep instructor and my mission is also to help families to sleep better.

As a public health nurse and a doula, I can really walk alongside families at all times during pregnancy, birth and postpartum and be a solid support even in difficult situations you might encounter. You can talk to me about anything and everything between us is completely confidential.

We received a lot of information and certainty for the upcoming birth. The practical exercises were helpful. Tens was a great help with contractions at home, on the way to the hospital, and in the hospital. It gave a sense of control to an otherwise uncontrollable situation. Even hard contractions didn’t scare me when I knew that I could respond to them somehow. The crying came, when Tens had to be taken out, when the epidural was being prepared.

Half Moon -Basic Doula Package

Half Moon Basic Doula Package is for you, who need comprehensive support and preparation for childbirth. We meet twice during pregnancy and you get to prepare for birth, breastfeeding and the postpartum period with a health nurse and a doula. 

The Half Moon -doula package includes:

  • 2 prenatal visits (3h)
  • Remote support by phone during pregnancy and 2 months after childbirth
  • Elle Tens rental
  • 4-week on-call 24/7, from 38 weeks until delivery
  • Continuous support and presence of a doula since the start of labor at home and in the hospital

Full Moon Deluxe Doula Package

Full Moon Deluxe Doula Package is for you, who want to invest in preparing for childbirth and need comprehensive support during pregnancy. It may be that you experience fear of childbirth and want to work on your fears together with me. The package includes in-depth homework that you can do between meetings. You can also take part in my childbirth education sessions free of charge. During prenatal meetings, we can also prepare for breastfeeding, postpartum period, and supporting newborn sleep.

Full Moon Deluxe Doula Package includes:

  • 4 meetings (3h) during pregnancy, where we prepare for birth. We deal with the fear of childbirth using different methods. As a public health nurse, I can do an external examination to find out the baby’s position (and thus to find suitable Spinning Babies exercises).
  • The possibility to participate in my group childbirth education sessions free of charge (subject to availability, see upcoming trainings on the Events page)
  • Remote support by phone during pregnancy and after childbirth
  • Elle Tens rental
  • 5-week on-call 24/7, from 38 weeks until delivery
  • Continuous support and presence of a doula at the start of labor at home and in the birthing hospital.
  • Postpartum Home visit (3h): incl. breastfeeding consultation, childbirth discussion, supporting newborn’s sleep

New Moon -Virtual Doula Package

New Moon -Virtual Doula Package is for you, who want to prepare for birth and want doula support for your birth remotely via video, text or phone. The service is available in English, Spanish and Finnish.

The Uusikuu remote birthing package includes:

  • 2 remote meetings (3h) during pregnancy, where we prepare for birth.
  • In-depth homework and exercises that you can do between meetings
  • Remote support by phone during pregnancy and after childbirth
  • Elle Tens rental for 4 weeks (incl. postage)
  • 4-week on-call 24/7, from 38 weeks until delivery
  • Continuous remote doula support throughout the birth (video, text and/or phone according to your wishes)
  • Remote postpartum meeting (3h): including recovery from delivery, breastfeeding guidance, childbirth discussion, supporting newborn sleep etc.

Elle Tens -device rental

The Elle Tens -device is a popular drug-free pain relief method during childbirth. Renting an Elle Tens device from Luna Mama is affordable and easy. The Tens device can be picked up from Rovaniemi or sent by mail all over Finland.

The rental period starts 2 weeks before the due date (h38+0). Flexible return approx. 2 weeks after the due date, when you have settled in with the newborn.

The services of a public health nurse are VAT-free health services (sales referred to in Section 34 of the VAT). When you have a referral for breastfeeding counseling by a private doctor (901D, Care by a nurse, maximum 60 minutes), it is possible to get Kela reimbursement or if you have insurance for the baby, your insurance will probably cover the costs of breastfeeding counseling for you. Home visits include travel expenses within a 25 km distance from Rovaniemi. When traveling outside this area, travel expenses of 0.53 €/km are added to the price (starting from Vennivaara, Rovaniemi).

  • Remote support during pregnancy and postpartum until your baby is about 2 months old

Price: €929 (After tax credit for household expenses €380*)

* You can deduct 60% of the work as tax credit for household expenses. The maximum amount is €3500 per person, and the deductible is €100 during the calendar year, which you have to pay yourself during the calendar year. Read more about the tax credit on the Vero.fi website.

The package is for you, whose child has bigger challenges in sleeping and you need closer support and a companion. Includes:
